What is Country Dancing ??

Country Dancing is spirited social dancing from Britain and North America. Some dances are several hundred years old, and some are newly composed, but all are great fun! Our dances come from the English countryside, the English court (Playford Dances) and include the rollicking Contra Dances of New England.
There is no fancy footwork, and all dances are taught by experienced callers before being danced by the group. Wear comfortable, low-heeled shoes. No need to bring a partner - there are plenty of people to dance with. Beginners are especially welcome! |
